Since July 2004, Janet has been the controlling investor and owner of OEC. Under her guidance, OEC has become a leading firm in the environmental consulting field throughout the Southeastern United States. Janet holds dual Master’s Degrees in English and Environmental Policy with proficiency in NEPA, CERCLA, RCRA, ESA, and Environmental Justice issues. She is an experienced project manager for wildlife surveys and wetland field work, environmental policy, stakeholder engagement, and risk advisor with focus on messaging and outreach. She is also a registered gopher tortoise agent certified by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Her field experience includes gopher tortoise relocation, wetland delineation, bald eagle monitoring, Florida scrub jay surveys, mitigation monitoring, and tree surveys. She is an award-winning community leader and sought-out public speaker on the issue of environment, business, and leadership. Janet has been recognized as one of the Jacksonville Business Journal’s 2013 “Women of Influence.” She is a 2012 Leadership Jacksonville alumni, recipient of the 2012 “Woman of Steel” Award from Entrepreneurs Anchor Magazine, and the JAXChamber’s 2011 Small Business Leader of the Year.
