Janet Herrick – CEO / President
Janet is not new to the world of entrepreneurship. For four years, she successfully managed her first company, Global Purchasing Solutions, LLC, an international import-sourcing company with offices in Jacksonville, Florida and Shanghai, China. When she decided to change direction, she sold her half of the company to her business partner in China, where it continues to operate.
Janet then turned her focus to another burgeoning area of opportunity: housing growth and land development. “I learned a lot in those four years,” she says. “In the end, I felt the need to stay local and focus on providing a service closer to home. Customer interaction is something I really enjoy. I also love steering the vision of the company from a seasoned perspective. Good ownership is about good leadership. To me, it’s one and the same.” She incorporated OEC in July 2004, bringing on senior scientist Adam Hoyles as her business partner.
